A Quick Trip

We made a quick trip to the UK in July to attend the wedding of a great friend of Kurt's from Keele. It was also good to see the place again, and even to get some nice shopping in at the same time.

The King of the Jungle

Kurt went to Lion Park and had some upclose encounters with the King himself. They aren't joking when they say remain in your vehicles. These are me and Phillip with one of the cubs (who are really like some big puss fi true, dem jus ignore mi or pull on mi jeans), and then some others in the open area we drove through.

the ''strange" part

Who wants to guess what this lovely mixture is that the woman is spreading. It's apparently used to decorate the walls of huts etc., Very artisitic. And yes, those are the real stuff and no I didn't eat any....yuh mussi mad - after mi nuh deh pon fear factor. What I did eat though was stuff off this menu painted on the wall of the restaurant. And believe me, it was good!

More culture

Kurt went on another trip to a cultural village. This one gives a taste of five of the local tribal cultures in an area called the Cradle of Humankind. Apparently, there is evidence of the earliest human remains in this area.....talk about going back home. Here's to the Zulu, Ndebele, Xhosa, Basotho and Pedi Peoples.

Riches of the Land

We took a nice drive out of the city one holiday morning and came across one of the major diamond mines in the country. Unfortunately we dídn't come across any of the products. Next search will be a gold mine.

Yeh it's been a while

Ok folks we know it's been forever since we posted new stuff and after much clamouring and threatening and pleading and begging, we will now oblige.

Just kidding, we been real delinquent so here goes.
